SHINee’s KEY Launches Global Tour with Out-of-This-World Seoul Show

SHINee’s KEY kicked off his 2025 solo tour in Seoul with a futuristic bang, stunning fans with an immersive concept performance. Tears, VCRs, UFOs — this wasn’t just a concert. It was a visual manifesto.

The World of ‘KEYLAND’ Comes Alive

From September 26 to 28, SHINee’s KEY hosted his solo concert ‘2025 KEYLAND: Uncanny Valley’ at the KSPO Dome (formerly the Olympic Handball Gymnasium) in Seoul. The show was live-streamed globally via Beyond LIVE and Weverse, allowing fans from the US, UK, Australia, Japan, and more to be part of the visual spectacle in real time.

Tapping into the ‘Uncanny Valley’

The concert theme borrowed from the concept of the “uncanny valley”—the eerie feeling we get when something non-human looks almost, but not quite, human. In KEY’s words, the show was about “meeting another version of myself.” It was conceptual, artistic, and unapologetically extra.

KEY transformed the stage with asymmetrical LED walls, surreal geometric structures, mind-bending VCRs, and jaw-dropping outfits. Think fashion-forward robot in a Mark Rothko universe. Add to that a live band bringing his distinctive soundscape to life, and you get what KEY described as “art performance at its best.”

From UFO Entrances to Tearful Goodbyes

He opened with “Strange”, entering aboard a spaceship-style moving ring truss—a contraption that, yes, actually hovered above the crowd. Follow-ups like “Helium,” “CoolAs,” and “Want Another” kept the energy sky-high.

The setlist was a sonic rollercoaster: explosive pop anthems like “Gasoline” and gritty synth gems like “Killer” and “Heartless.” With each track, KEY showed off his vocal flexibility and flair for stage theatrics.

Lavender Lights and Fans’ Love

For the encore, he performed “Lavender Love”, a fan-favorite ballad infused with thankfulness. Amid a downpour of lilac confetti and scented air, KEY teared up hearing the fans sing along. A moment, quite literally, scented with emotion.

He wrapped up the night with festive tracks like “GLAM” and “This Life”, urging fans to celebrate the moment. Judging by the volume of screaming, they happily obliged.

What’s Next? World Domination (Plus Seven More Cities)

Seoul was just the beginning. The 2025 KEYLAND tour heads next to Taipei (Oct 4), Singapore (Oct 18), Macau, Tokyo, and a slew of US cities including LA, Dallas, Brooklyn, and Seattle. Previous shows like ‘2024 KEYLAND ON: AND ON’ raised the bar, but KEY says he’s ready to top even those.

“I didn’t think I could outdo that show, but now I believe it’s all up to me and my team,”

KEY told fans at the end, “I hope you tuck tonight’s memory somewhere safe and open it again as a beautiful reminder.”

Final Take

If SHINee are the kings of Hallyu, KEY is the sci-fi prince rewriting the K-pop concert playbook. With teary eyes and metallic trims, this was a launch sequence fans won’t soon forget.
