Seungmin Turns His Birthday Into a Gift for Others
While most idols celebrate their birthdays with cake and confetti, Stray Kids’ Seungmin took a different route—by donating 100 million KRW (around $75,000) to support underprivileged children in Korea.
Partnering with a Children’s Welfare Organization
On June 22, Seungmin made the generous donation to Green Umbrella ChildFund Korea, a nonprofit dedicated to child welfare. His contribution will go toward a program that helps children who must take on adult responsibilities way too early due to family circumstances.
“I hope this helps ease the emotional burden for kids forced to act like grown-ups at such a young age,” Seungmin shared. “I want them to dream freely about their future without feeling weighed down.”
Consistent Kindness: Not Just a One-Time Gesture
This isn’t Seungmin’s first time turning fan love into impact. Last year, he donated the same amount to help young adults aging out of the foster system. And earlier this year, he and his bandmates joined forces for wildfire relief efforts across Ulsan, North Gyeongsang, and South Gyeongsang provinces—donating a staggering 800 million KRW (roughly $600,000) to two major disaster relief organizations.
Stray Kids Just Keep Giving
With their global stardom rising fast, Stray Kids are proving that they’re more than just chart-toppers. They’re using their platform for good, and fans love them all the more for it.
Speaking of love, the group is set to return to the stage on October 18 and 19 for the encore stops of their “Stray Kids World Tour dominATE : celebrATE” at the Incheon Asiad Main Stadium—so mark your calendars.
Final Thought
In the K-pop world, values speak as loud as vocals. Seungmin’s act isn’t just inspiring—it’s leading a new kind of fan culture, where giving back is part of the celebration. Who knew birthdays could be this powerful?
