This October, ZB1 is going iconic—literally

K-pop rookie phenomenon ZEROBASEONE (ZB1) is stepping boldly into the Japanese market with their first Japanese-language EP titled “ICONIK”. Set for release on October 29 at midnight, the special EP includes Japanese versions of three of their standout tracks, including ‘ICONIK,’ fan-favorite ‘SLAM DUNK,’ and the title track ‘BLUE’ from their 5th mini album, BLUE PARADISE.

Defining ‘iconic’ on their own terms

According to their agency WAKEONE, the group aims to express their identity more clearly through this release. “No matter what others say, we have the power to become iconic in our own right,” the group stated, emphasizing confidence and individuality as the album’s core theme.

And yes, that message is baked into the EP’s name—‘ICONIK,’ a deliberate twist on the word ‘iconic.’

A collector’s dream: 10 versions and exclusive goodies

Fans, prepare your wallets. The ‘ICONIK’ EP will be available in 10 different editions—one standard version and nine solo-member versions. Each comes with randomized perks like lyric booklets, limited-edition photo cards, and secret sticker sets. Think of it as a K-pop scavenger hunt… but with better visuals.

The standard edition includes a special message card, while solo versions sport square cards and mystery sticker packs that’ll have collectors on their toes.

Special offline events incoming

To celebrate the launch, ZB1 will also host exclusive offline fan events in Japan. Details are still under wraps, but expect meet-and-greets that will likely have fans lining up for hours. Fingers crossed for some unforgettable fan interactions.

The bottom line

With the release of ‘ICONIK,’ ZEROBASEONE isn’t just crossing language borders—they’re stamping their identity as global rookies to watch. Will this move further their rise in the Japanese market? All signs point to yes.

Now the only question is: which version will you be buying first?
