A Sudden Goodbye to a Beloved YouTuber

Na Donghyun, better known as Daedoseogwan, a YouTuber with over 1.47 million subscribers, has tragically passed away at 46. He was found at his home in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, earlier this month.

After much speculation, his former wife—fellow creator Yumdaen—confirmed that the cause of death was cerebral hemorrhage, following a medical autopsy. She also addressed and shut down online rumors, saying, “This was not about money. Please let us grieve with respect.”

YouTube Channel to Live On as a Memorial

Fans received an emotional update via a post on Daedoseogwan TV. The message expressed heartfelt gratitude to his global audience and laid out plans for the future of his content and community.

“The YouTube channel and fan community will continue to exist as a space to cherish Daedoseogwan’s memory and good moments,” the post read. “We sincerely thank everyone who kept cheering for him, even in this unexpected farewell.”

The Dogs He Loved, Still Cared For

Na’s two beloved dogs, Tanchu and Komeoni, are now in the care of his younger sister. Despite their heartbreak, the pups are reportedly doing well—though Komeoni requires surgery due to aging-related issues in her knee and cruciate ligament.

“Please send your warm wishes for their health,” the statement added, underscoring how important the dogs were in Na’s life—and to his longtime viewers.

A Final Tribute: The 49th Day Ceremony

For those unfamiliar, in Korean tradition, the 49th-day memorial service is a Buddhist custom marking the end of the mourning period—much like a “celebration of life” in Western cultures.

Daedoseogwan’s ceremony is scheduled for October 23, 2025, at 12 PM at Yaksasa Temple on Manwolsan Mountain in Incheon. Fans are invited to participate. Letters and flowers may be brought on the day, where they’ll be ceremonially burned, symbolizing their journey to the afterlife.

Preserving a Digital Legacy

More than a content creator, Daedoseogwan was a digital friend for many—a warm presence in the everyday lives of his subscribers. From mukbangs to pet vlogs, and gaming to heartfelt storytelling, he was a pioneer of the Korean YouTube community.

And now, through the continued life of Daedoseogwan TV, his wit, warmth, and voice will echo on. The channel will shift from creator to curator—keeping the memory of Na Donghyun alive, one video at a time.

“Even though he’s gone, let’s remember the joy he brought us all,” the post concludes.
