Star-Studded Sparkle at Bulgari’s Colorful Tokyo Exhibition

From IVE's Wonyoung to actor Yamashita Tomohisa, a glittering lineup of stars lit up the Bulgari Kaleidoscope exhibition's grand opening in Tokyo—celebrating color, craftsmanship, and cross-cultural creativity.

A Bedazzled Beginning

On September 16, 2025, Bulgari unveiled its largest-ever exhibition in Japan after a decade-long hiatus. Held at the National Art Center Tokyo, the “Bulgari Kaleidos: Color, Culture, Craftsmanship” exhibition drew an elite crowd of artists, government officials, and international celebrities.

The A-Listers Who Turned Heads

The invite-only opening was practically a red carpet gala. Among the most talked-about guests? Kim Jiwon, who dazzled in Bulgari’s high jewelry featuring vivid morganite, garnet, and peridot. Styled to perfection, she topped off her look with a Diva’s Dream timepiece that felt more magical than mechanical.

IVE’s Wonyoung brought serious star power, rocking a modular yellow gold Serpenti Shape Shifting Emerald necklace anchored by a 17.97-carat Colombian emerald—yes, you read that right. And Mori Hikari radiated in pink gold and chalcedony pieces from the Sinuosity High Jewelry collection, a dreamy mix of unexpected shapes and colors.

Actor Yamashita Tomohisa proved elegance isn’t gendered. His combo of platinum and mandarin garnet watches, artful brooches—a nod to Italian gardens—and Serpenti rings served major “modern Dolce Vita” vibes.

A Celebration of Color and Culture

The exhibition features roughly 350 works of jewelry and contemporary art, showcasing the brand’s flair for vibrant color and timeless craftsmanship. Divided into themes—The Science of Color, The Symbolism of Color, and The Power of Light—the pieces spanned Bulgari’s century-long history, from 1960s statement necklaces to newly commissioned artworks from Lala Favarretto and Mariko Mori.

Add a gala dinner under the soaring atrium of the museum, soundtracked by composer Roberto Cacciapaglia and vocalist Shiokawa Kana, and it was the kind of soirée you wish you could photobomb.

Beyond the Exhibition: Immersive Experiences

At Bulgari Hotel Tokyo, contemporary artist Akiko Nakayama transformed the elevators into an immersive exhibit, projecting sky-themed video installations from the ground floor to the 40th-floor lobby—a moving museum in the most literal sense.

The hotel also houses a temporary gallery hosting treasures from the brand’s heritage and private collections. Don’t miss the limited-edition chocolate gems created by Gianluca Fusto at Bulgari Dolci. Jewelry you can eat? Say no more.

Limited Editions for the Inner Collector

The exhibit’s catalog—aptly named “Bulgari Kaleidos”—boasts four collector-worthy covers and features essays from architects, curators, and jewel lovers alike. Available only at the on-site gift shop, it’s as much an art piece as the works inside the show.

Final Sparkle

More than just a jewelry showcase, Bulgari’s Tokyo takeover was a celebration of color as a language—one that connects Japanese and Italian artistry, past and future, stone and story. If you’re in town, consider this a mandatory stop. Museum visit, fashion inspo, and Insta gold in one chic package.
