‘Wild Thing’ Begins Filming with Star-Studded Cast

On March 30, the comedy film ‘Wild Thing’ officially began filming, bringing together some of Korea’s top actors in a hilarious tale of music, memory, and mayhem. The story follows ‘Triangle,’ a once-popular co-ed K-pop dance group, as they attempt an unexpected comeback two decades after disbanding due to unforeseen circumstances.

A Colorful Lineup of Eccentric Characters

Kang Dongwon takes on the role of Hyunwoo, the former leader and dancing machine of ‘Triangle.’ Known for his performances in Broker and The Priests, Kang surprises audiences by switching genres to comedy for the first time. Hyunwoo, now a struggling variety show guest clinging to fame, is expected to deliver both laughs and heart with a comedic twist.

Uhm Taegoo plays Sanggu, the passionate rapper of the group, infamous for his terrible flow but endless enthusiasm. Having showcased his intensity in Night in Paradise and Lighting Store, Uhm will once again bring unforgettable stage presence—even if it’s slightly offbeat.

Park Jihyun transforms into Domi, the vocal center of Triangle. Recognized for her solid acting in The Youngest Son of a Conglomerate and Flex X Cop, she is expected to show a refreshing new side through the film’s comedic lens.

Oh Jungse rounds out the cast as Seonggon, a ballad singer who lived in the shadow of Triangle’s fame, forever stuck in second place. The versatile actor, known for It’s Okay to Not Be Okay and Extreme Job, brings his comedic genius to life once again in this role filled with sentimental laughs.

A Reunion Fueled by Laughter

Wild Thing is directed by Son Jae-gon, known for clever comedies such as Lovers of Six Years and Secret Zoo, and produced by About Film, the studio behind the blockbuster Extreme Job which brought in over 16 million viewers. With a dynamic cast and unique concept, anticipation is building among audiences of all ages.

As these uniquely quirky characters reunite on screen, fans can look forward to a hilarious yet heartwarming journey filled with dance moves, throwback outfits, and unexpected chemistry. Wild Thing is currently in production and aims to bring a wave of nostalgia and laughter to theatergoers soon.

A Glimpse into the K-pop Past, with a Comedic Spin

The film not only plays on Korea’s love of K-pop but mixes in the nostalgic feels of reunion stories, making it relatable to anyone who remembers their favorite songs, old school outfits, and dream of one last glory moment.

With a melodic mix of music and humor, Wild Thing promises to deliver the ultimate K-comedy experience.
