Rising K-pop artist Choi Sooho has fans buzzing with excitement after releasing the highlight medley for his debut mini-album ‘ONE’. On March 31, his agency, Pogo Entertainment, dropped a preview video on their official YouTube channel, giving fans a taste of the songs included in the much-anticipated album.
‘ONE’ Blends Korean Tradition with Global Sounds
The title track, ‘끝까지 간다’ (translated as ‘Go All the Way’), opens with Choi’s stirring pansori vocals—a form of traditional Korean narrative singing. This unique touch seamlessly blends with the energetic rhythms of flamenco guitar and pounding dance beats, creating a rich fusion of East and West. The track is composed by Oh Joon-sung, known for K-drama soundtracks like Boys Over Flowers and The Master’s Sun, and penned by lyricist Lee Geon-woo, famous for Kim Yeon-ja’s ‘Amor Fati.’

The album also features emotionally diverse tracks like ‘Walking in a Dream’, spotlighting Choi’s tender vocals reminiscent of a warm spring afternoon. ‘Our Time Together’ charms listeners with a lush arrangement of flugelhorn and string instruments. ‘Mother’s Song’, a heartfelt remake, reflects longing for a mother through Choi’s sentimental performance, showcasing his emotional depth.

Born in 2002, Choi Sooho studied pansori at the Korea National University of Arts and has garnered attention for fusing traditional music with contemporary styles. He previously made waves on the MBN show King of Active Singers 2, finishing in sixth place. He also clinched a win during his debut performance on KBS2’s long-running show Immortal Songs, proving his musical versatility.

‘ONE’ is scheduled to release on April 5 at 6 PM KST across various music platforms.
