Singer Hwang Youngwoong has once again proven his immense popularity by securing first place in the May 2025 Netizen Awards’ Grand Prix category with a staggering 91,804 votes (22.3%). The victory reinforces his reputation as a leading figure in Korea’s entertainment scene.

Fierce Competition in a Star-Studded Lineup

This month’s Grand Prix was dubbed the “Ultimate Crown Battle,” featuring top stars from various entertainment sectors. Despite the intense competition, Hwang clinched first place, adding to his previous recognitions including the Fanbook Grand Prize and the CF Model Award. His consistent fan support continues to power his reign.

Close Contenders Rising Fast

Trailing closely behind was Jeong Seoju, who earned 75,657 votes (18.4%) and held onto second place. Known for his crossover appeal between trot music and cultural programs, Jeong’s growing fanbase spans generations. Meanwhile, Jeong Subin claimed third place with 52,600 votes (12.8%), marking his arrival as a new heavyweight contender thanks to his versatile activities in both acting and music.

Mid-Rank Stars Make Their Mark

Following the top three, Park Jihyun (27,879 votes, 6.8%), Kim Hyeyoon (25,274 votes, 6.1%), Son Taejin (23,211 votes, 5.6%), and Enoch (19,458 votes, 4.7%) ranked fourth through seventh. Kim Hyeyoon, primarily known for her acting, garnered significant support from music fans, adding a new dimension to her public image.

Power Players From 8th to 20th

The competition remained fierce through the mid-tier rankings. Binnie Seo (14,688 votes), Liberante (14,065 votes), and MyJin (13,917 votes) rounded out the top 10. Their steady performance signals a solid foundation for a future leap to the top ranks.

In the 11th to 20th range, familiar names held their ground. Jang Minho landed in 11th place, followed by ForteNA in 12th. Actor Byun Wooseok ranked 13th, and Park Changgeun and Jeong Dongwon followed closely behind. Veteran singer Cho Yongpil demonstrated lasting popularity at 17th place, while SF9’s Rowoon and actress Jeong Somin came next. Basketball star Heo Woong rounded out the top 20, illustrating the growing crossover appeal of athletes in entertainment.
