Han Hyojoo and Oguri Shun Tangle in Sweet New Netflix Romance

Netflix’s upcoming romantic comedy 'Lovers Anonymous,' starring Han Hyojoo and Oguri Shun, drops its key art and trailer ahead of its October 2025 release. Expect tender moments, quirky chemistry, and a beautiful theme song by Le Sserafim’s Kim Chaewon.

Two Broken Souls, One Delicious Fate

Netflix has just unwrapped the main trailer and key visuals for ‘Lovers Anonymous’, a cross-border romantic comedy premiering exclusively on October 16, 2025. With a knockout Japanese-Korean cast and a bittersweet twist on love and healing, this series is tailor-made for hopeless romantics and drama junkies alike.

What’s ‘Lovers Anonymous’ About?

This isn’t your average fairy tale. Set in the high-sugar world of chocolate, the drama stars Oguri Shun as Sohrō, a germaphobic heir to Japan’s top confectionery empire. Shun makes a much-awaited return to classic romance for the first time in 13 years.

Han Hyojoo plays Hana, a genius chocolatier in Tokyo with a secret: she has a severe case of scopophobia—the fear of eye contact. She’s awkward, sweet, and finds solace in crafting chocolate, not connections.

A Love Neither of Them Saw Coming

The trailer kicks off with their not-so-meet-cute over chocolate, of all things. He can’t touch people, she can’t lock eyes. But somehow, these “broken” adults find the one person they can face—each other. As coworkers and tentative “practice partners” in love, they slowly unravel emotional knots through slow-burn moments and fizzy banter.

Throw in a tangled web of romance involving the smooth jazz bar owner Kan (played by Jin Akanishi), who Hana might be crushing on, and a poised psychiatrist Irene (Yuri Nakamura), and you’ve got yourself a very mature, very messy four-way drama square.

Chocolate, Chaos, and Chemistry

The 14 new stills released alongside the trailer reveal more than just sweet confections. Supporting cast like Narita Ryo as Sohrō’s cousin, Ayumi Ito as the no-nonsense head chocolatier, and Eiji Okuda as Hana’s kind-hearted boss hint at rich character stories wrapped in layers of quiet longing.

And Sohrō’s father, played by Koichi Sato, isn’t just a CEO—he’s a traditional patriarch pressuring his son to conform. Classic, right?

A K-Pop Twist: LE SSERAFIM’s Kim Chaewon Debuts Solo OST

Let’s talk soundtracks. For the first time ever, Kim Chaewon of LE SSERAFIM lends her voice to a drama OST as a solo artist with her rendition of ‘Confession (Japanese Version)’, a remake of a Korean hit ballad about one-sided love.

This track is already streaming and plays during a pivotal scene between Sohrō and Hana in the main trailer. Expect it to break hearts and melt Spotify queues this fall.

Mark Your Calendars

Set your reminders and clear your watchlists: ‘Lovers Anonymous’ is Netflix’s bet on slow-burn love and adult vulnerability. It’s wistful, whimsical, and a perfect pick for anyone who’s ever felt just a little out of place in the world of romance.
