Giving Back Instead of Gifts

While most people spend their birthdays blowing out candles or enjoying cake, GOT7’s Park Jinyoung took a different route—spending his special day giving back in a big way.

₩100 Million for Children’s Meals

To celebrate his birthday, Jinyoung donated 100 million Korean won (roughly $75,000) to the international NGO Save the Children. The funds will help provide meals to children from low-income families in South Korea, just in time for Chuseok—Korea’s version of Thanksgiving, when families gather to celebrate over classic dishes like jeon (savory pancakes) and songpyeon (half-moon rice cakes).

“Grateful to Share the Love I’ve Received”

Jinyoung explained his motivation in a heartfelt statement: “So many fans have given me love over the years. I’ve always wondered how to give it back. I’m grateful to join in protecting children’s smiles, even in a small way.”

This isn’t just a one-time good deed—the singer-turned-actor has a history of helping out. In 2023, he donated ₩30 million to aid victims of the Turkey-Syria earthquake. In April 2024, he doubled down with another ₩30 million for children affected by the Myanmar quake. And yes, he’s a card-carrying member of Save the Children’s exclusive Owner’s Club.

Serving Kindness, Not Just Talent

While fans love him for his smooth vocals and acting chops (his K-drama roles keep piling up), it’s Jinyoung’s consistent generosity that sets him apart. Whether on stage, on screen, or behind the scenes supporting global causes, he’s proving that kindness can be part of the K-idol package too.

What’s Next?

With his fanbase growing worldwide and his career in both music and film gaining momentum, Jinyoung’s influence goes far beyond the stage. If this birthday was any proof, we’re not just watching the rise of a star—we’re witnessing the journey of a real role model.
